I am the Hater of the Pun--but I will love you to Neptune if you make me laugh. I have two dad's--one on earth & one in heaven. So I guess you could say I'm a real Daddy's girl. Though I'm named for a flower, I don't open easily. But if I trust you, then even my barbs are silk. I am a lover of happiness, gentle words and gentle men, and people who know who they are and fit in their skin. And accept me as I am. Friendship is the true slow-cooked meal: one that takes time to prepare, but well worth waiting to savor. I believe people and hearts are not kleenex (or Puffs if that's your brand) to be deep-sixed in the circular file when you're done with them. Passionate about music and food, I love making both. Outdoors definitely rather than in. Though I love to curl up with a good book when the moon is in charge. As for my secular reading tastes: anything on wolves and tigresses and the sea. The woman I admire most in the Big Book is Vashti--she refuses to surrender her integrity in the face of pressure, even though it costs her a crown. But if I could be anyone it would be Esther--smart, savvy, and fearless. The guy I like most in the Old News is Boaz. And not just because he's a farmer. That scene where he is hand feeding Ruth in the field and then later covers her with his cloak . . . he is the embodiment of devotion. Like Ruth, I too find myself standing in a field, hoping it belongs to the one who will be my friend, my Boaz, my kinsman-redeemer.
