I am a 68 year old woman in good health and active. I live with and care for my 87 year old mother. I have a son, daughter-in-law and 4 grandchildren who live next door ( on 3 1/2 acres - I am on 6 acres), and one grandson grown who recently presented me with a beautiful great grand-daughter. They are the joy of my days.
I am active in my church - resigned as head deaconess after 6 years and am currently a deaconess assigned to plan and prepare our Agape Feast Communion program each spring. At the moment I am doing Bible studies with two delightful women and find the privilege of working with them inspiring and challenging. To know Jesus better each day and learn to trust, obey and serve Him more faithfully is the primary goal of my life.
I love gardening, both flowers and vegetables, and am trying to figure out how to manage a new orchard - I planted it four years ago and am learning the art of pruning and how manage it. I am reading and trying. Actually, I just like being outside for both work and play.
I am no longer working away from home and am really enjoying the freedom. I taught school for 21 years, 14 in church school, 6 in a public school on the Navajo Indian reservation, and 1 year in a local junior high teaching science. Other jobs include tree planting (a great job), driving a semi truck both over the road and on a dedicated run (enjoyed that), medical technologist (paid the bills but was all indoors so had its limitations), and sundry others.
I have made 27 major moves in my life, and lived in 17 states (not counting the short time stays in various states while tree planting), so have lived literally from coast to coast (Washington and Oregon to North Carolina and Florida) and border to border (Arizona to Michigan) and many places in between. I have found things to love in about every place I have lived, but if I had my 'druthers' would probably choose northern Idaho or Montana - or parts of Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, etc. Of course I really enjoyed the north end of Moosehead Lake in Maine one summer spent thinning trees there. Mostly I really enjoy where I am, where ever that happens to be. I am really not into partying or big crowds, although I love a good classical concert. I enjoy people in very small groups where the conversations can be inclusive and stimulating (without trying to keep one ear cocked to hear that fascinating story told by someone in another little group nearby).
My ideal match would be a committed Christian, warm, thoughtful, kind, intelligent and hard-working with practical skills. It would be great if he was a sensible, well-organized man but one not adverse to a spontaneous adventure. Hopefully he would enjoy travelling, but also enjoy puttering around in the yard and garden. He would not object too much to helping can, freeze and dehydrate the products of the garden. He would be pretty much committed to a healthy lifestyle and it would be nice if he prefers a plant-based diet. ( I am mostly vegan now and have always been vegetarian). If he has children and grandchildren, they should be a huge part of his life as I feel that family is most important.
I have been divorced since 1982, and haven't sought to change that - mostly because I have not met a single man that I am interested in and that returns the interest. I am comfortable single but would enjoy a companion if such a relationship is within God's will for my life at this time.

Yes - but not at home
I like bird watching when I have time. Mostly I like to work outdoors - in the yard, garden, and orchard, cutting, splitting and storing firewood for the winter, etc. Also enjoy traveling (loved driving over the road), mission trips, camping, canoeing, hiking, I enjoy sewing for my grand daughter and like the satisfaction of a neat, clean house - though don't enjoy having to be inside to accomplish that. I enjoy giving Bible studies and being involved at church. I guess most importantly, I do not like to play games but do like to put puzzles together on a quiet winter evening with a good fire warming the house.
